The idea is wonderful, in fact the products, menus, instructions, packaging, even their customer service are all awesome. What’s not wonderful is their shipper. I shall explain.
I decided to try Hello Fresh upon the recommendation of a friend who used the service. I ordered on a Wednesday the week before and picked the following Tuesday as my first delivery day.
Week 2: The following Tuesday came, and once again no delivery. I called in to their customer service again, and was told my order was delayed and would arrive on Wednesday. They even gave me a $16 credit on the following week’s order for my inconvenience.
On Wednesday, when I finally received my order I was pleasantly surprised with how well everything was packaged and organized.
I ordered 2 meals per week for a family of 4.
Each meal was in its own sub-box and the meats were under the boxes between two ice packs.
The meal turned out great and aside from the snafu I was pleased.
Week 3: On Tuesday, I am excitedly waiting my recipe and ingredients as I was planning on making this for dinner. I had received an email that my delivery was on its way in the morning and I thought–Yes, they finally will get it to me on time today! No. They didn’t. My order did not arrive on Tuesday as promised. On Wednesday mid-day I received an email stating my order would not arrive on time that Wednesday but would come on Thursday. I called in to customer service only to discover my order had indeed been delivered an hour earlier. However, I had to make other plans for dinner and realized this company, albeit its offering, was undependable so I canceled my subscription.
Hello Fresh, no Goodbye Fresh. I am now on the search for another company that can offer the same service but on time!!
